Greenspan to speak on Caribbean emerging markets

The former chairman of the US Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan, is to address leaders from the Caribbean on how to develop tourism in the region.

Greenspan will talk at the first Annual Caribbean Tourism Summit (ACTS) to be held between June 21st and 25th in Washington DC, which will be attended by international leaders from political, tourism, and investment communities.

The focus of will be on the economic future of the Caribbean region and on two key issues for the areas tourism sector: in particular: marketing and investment and its effect on the agricultural, construction and aviation sectors.

Allen Chastanet, co-chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Development Company which has organised the event, said: "It's no secret that tourism is a pivotal industry for the Caribbean.

"It's also no coincidence that we're holding the summit in the national capital of our largest source of business, the United States.
