Tourists are increasingly choosing Latin American countries for their holiday destinations, it has emerged.
Nubricks.com has reported that a new report from Expedia has revealed a number of "tourist hot spots".
According to the website, the Dominican Republic is one of the tourist destinations highlighted as being increasingly popular with people going on their summer breaks, which is a "positive sign" for investors with property in the region and for those thinking of investing.
The Dominican Republic attracted almost 1.6 million visitors in the first four months of this year, which represented an increase of 5.6 per cent on the same time last year, according to the country's Central Bank.
Nubricks.com commented: "With many international property investors in search of the next best thing, following the investment strategy of the major hotel chains, it will be interesting to see which parts of the Latin American continent are next on the overseas property agenda."
