BuyAssociation has highlighted the Caribbean as one of the most popular places where people looking to buy a holiday home consider investing.
Property editor of the organisation Paul Collins said that the region is a favourite with buyers intending to invest in a foreign property that they can use for holidays.
According to a recent article by the Irish Independent, the Caribbean island of Margarita, which is part of Venezuela, is a destination that investors "should be queuing" for.
The newspaper reported that the combination of good weather, white, sandy beaches and appealing property prices on the island make it "very beautiful and very cheap, by European standards".
Conor Johnson, the chief executive officer of the Irish offices of the Right Move Abroad, told the publication: "[Isla] Margarita is an emerging market with a low entry level that is expected to jump in value over the next five years."
