Irish and UK consumers are the two nationalities making the most searches for foreign property investments on the internet, according to a report.
The Global edge website suggests that certain emerging overseas property markets have in particular shown higher than usual search volumes, in its analysis of the Google Trends research.
According to the website choices.co.uk, Google commented: "The UK and Ireland still account for the majority of searches.
"They may not be buying as much as this time last year but they still account for a large percentage of the market."
Those searching for property in emerging markets may be considering Venezuela's Margarita Island, where property prices can be 50 per cent cheaper than on other Caribbean islands, according to the nubricks.com website.
It reports Michael Johns, chief executive officer of The Right Move Abroad, said "excellent rental yields" can be offered by emerging destinations such as Margarita Island.
