Dominican Republic 'named top ten nation for business'
The Dominican Republic has been named among the top ten nations for conducting business by a new report.
Dominican Today reports that this is a 13-place rise for the country, with Eddy Martinez Manzueta, secretary of state and executive director of the Dominican Republic's Export and Investment Centre attributing this to the confidence created by president Leonel Fernandez ' s government.
According to the news provider, the report stated that the Dominican Republic had excellent results relating to starting up new business, registering property and trading across borders.
"Our intention is to continue to improve the Dominican Republic's business climate, not only to be among the top ten but to become the leading country in Latin America," Martinez Manzueta added.
In related news, the publication recently reported that figures from the nation's Ministry of Tourism show an increase of 6.55 per cent in the number of holidaymakers visiting the Dominican Republic in the first half of 2008 when compared to the previous year.
